Apply for SPE Nigeria Council Sustainability Video Challenge 2026 (Win N1 Million)

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Council has opened applications for the 2026 “Voices for a Sustainable Future” National Sustainability Video Challenge.

The competition is organised in partnership with Kenyon International to celebrate World Environment Day and encourage young Nigerians to promote environmental sustainability through creative video content.

Selected winners will receive a cash prize of N1 million alongside publicity opportunities in national newspapers.

About the Challenge

The challenge is designed to create awareness around environmental sustainability issues while encouraging students to provide practical and innovative solutions to problems affecting communities, institutions, industries, and society.

Participants are expected to produce short videos that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Prize for Winners

The winning participant or team will receive:

• One Million Naira cash prize
• Feature and publicity in national dailies

Who Can Apply

The programme is open to:

• Students from various SPE Student Chapters across Nigeria
• Individuals or groups of 3–5 students

According to the organisers, each individual or team is allowed to submit only one entry.

Video Requirements

Participants must meet the following conditions:

• Video length must be 1 minute
• Preferred platform for posting is LinkedIn
• Participants must tag both Kenyon International and SPE Nigeria Council in their posts
• Entries must include the official hashtags:

Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged based on:

• Initiative and Creativity – 35%
• Quality of Video Production – 15%
• Social Media Reach and Engagement – 50%

Application Timeline

• Launch Date: June 5, 2026
• Submission Deadline: June 29, 2026

Students interested in sustainability, environmental advocacy, and digital storytelling are encouraged to participate before the deadline.
