Nigeria singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has firmly shut down online critics blasting her recent fashion choices, boldly declaring that she will wear “way worse” outfits in the future.
The Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star, known for her daring and unconventional style, sparked a fresh wave of social media backlash following a TikTok video that highlighted her latest look.
In the footage, Ayra Starr made a bold fashion statement by wearing a traditional Nigerian gele paired with a modern, streetwear-style outfit of a black top, a sheer polka-dot skirt to a live event.
She wore this look while headlining Part 1 of the Zsongo Experience at KOKO London, where fellow artiste Tiwa Savage also made a surprise appearance.
The 23-year-old artiste, who was widely discussed after photos of her appearance circulated on social media, dismissed the criticism and insisted she is unbothered by the reactions.
Reacting directly to the comments on Instagram, she wrote on her page, “Y’all relax in the comments I’ve worn way worse and I’m going to wear wayyy worse so manage your yarns.”
Her response has since drawn mixed reactions online, with supporters praising her confidence while critics continued to question her fashion choices.
