The Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has commended security operatives, particularly the Zamfara State Police Command, for their renewed commitment and determination in the fight against banditry across the state.
The governor’s commendation followed the successful operation by the Police Command’s Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU), which recovered 329 rustled cattle, 175 sheep, as well as weapons and ammunition from bandits in the Gambanda Forest of Gummi Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, Governor Lawal described the latest achievement as encouraging and a clear indication that ongoing security operations are yielding positive results.
According to the statement, the governor said: “I commend the efforts of all security operatives in Zamfara State, especially the Zamfara State Police Command, for their resilience, bravery, and commitment in recovering 329 cattle, 175 sheep, weapons, and ammunition from bandits.”
The statement added that the successful operation reflects the dedication and professionalism of the police despite the challenges posed by criminal elements, while reaffirming their critical role in protecting lives and livelihoods across the state.
Governor Lawal further noted that the operation demonstrates the strong leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammad Bello, whose guidance has strengthened security efforts and enhanced public safety in Zamfara.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting all security agencies to ensure lasting peace, safety, and security for the people of Zamfara State.
