Dave Rogers, 37, and his older brother Chris Rogers, 42, were inseparable throughout their lives.

Their closeness was reflected in their living arrangements, with the pair residing in the same block of flats, just one floor apart, allowing them to spend time together almost every day.

Their family says the brothers were constantly joking, teasing one another and sharing the kind of friendship that went far beyond ordinary sibling relationships.

The tragedy began when Dave suddenly collapsed while spending time with relatives. Family members recalled that he had been laughing and chatting moments earlier when he unexpectedly stopped speaking and fell to the floor.

Doctors later discovered that a blood vessel had burst in his brain. Despite undergoing a gruelling 13-hour emergency operation in a desperate attempt to save his life, Dave was ultimately declared brain dead.

As relatives struggled to come to terms with the shocking loss, another crisis was unfolding. Chris was already in the hospital battling serious health complications caused by liver damage.

The condition prevented his body from properly filtering toxins from his bloodstream, leading to severe infections and eventually kidney failure.

His deteriorating health caused fluid to build up throughout his body, affecting his limbs, stomach and chest.

Despite the seriousness of his condition, the family had been given a glimmer of hope after doctors reported that his liver appeared to be healing and that he was showing signs of improvement.

That optimism was tragically short-lived.

Less than 24 hours after receiving the encouraging update, Chris died on June 19, just days after losing his younger brother. The timing meant he never had the opportunity to say a final goodbye to Dave.

The double loss has left the family struggling to comprehend what has happened.

Friends and relatives have described the brothers as devoted to one another, noting that their bond remained strong throughout adulthood.

Living only a floor apart, they were a constant presence in each other’s lives, sharing everyday moments that many siblings only experience occasionally.

Now, their loved ones are grappling with the unimaginable task of mourning two sons, brothers and friends at the same time.

The brothers leave behind an older sibling, their grieving father and a heartbroken mother who now faces the painful reality of burying two of her children within a matter of days.

In the wake of the tragedy, relatives have launched an online GoFundMe campaign to help cover the unexpected costs of arranging a joint funeral service.

As messages of support continue to pour in, many have been moved by the story of two brothers whose lives were closely intertwined until the very end, and whose family must now find a way to navigate a loss almost too painful to comprehend.
