Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has come under fire over her outfit to late colleague, Alex Ekubo’s Service of Songs.
It is no longer news that Alex is late, and on Wednesday, June 10th, his family, friends, and colleagues held a Service of Songs for him at the Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos.
As expected, many celebrities attended the event to honour the late actor. Among them was Nancy Isime, who wore a white gown and something like a scarf tied around her eyes.
Her outfit has drawn reactions from netizens who slam her for her glamorous look.

When the news of his death broke out, the light-skinned actress wrote a lengthy statement about cancer, noting how so many beautiful lives have been lost, and many are still battling silently every day. She added that it is painful to see how much suffering it causes, yet so many continue to fight with incredible strength and courage.
Not done, Isime, honoured him by changing her Instagram profile to a dark photo of Alex Ekubo. Kemi Filani checked on her Instagram and noticed the new change.
Last year, Isime raised eyebrows over her appearance at the 17th edition of the Headies Awards. The movie star wore a short outfit with a net, which showed off her thighs.
Amid the backlash, the movie star took fans through the process of her controversial outfit. She shared a video of the process behind her outfits, noting how it’s easy to focus on the negatives and lose sight of the positives.
In 2023, during the wake of talented Nigerian singer Mohbad’s death, Alex shared a deep message about the irony of life. He noted how people cry for the dead yet keep malice with the living. He pointed out how we envy the successful and avoid the broke (poor) ones.
Also, during Junior Pope’s death, Ekubo wrote a heartfelt note, praying that we be surrounded by people with wisdom and human sympathy in our helpless moments and not those who are more interested in creating content out of one’s situation.
