Former Nasir El-Rufai will remain in custody after reportedly failing to meet the conditions attached to his bail.
According to the report, one of the key requirements for his release is the provision of a high-ranking civil servant as surety, along with proof of property ownership in either Maitama or Asokoro, two high-profile districts in Abuja.
The development comes as the Department of State Services (DSS) reportedly closed its wiretapping case against the former Kaduna State governor.
Despite the reported closure of the case, El-Rufai remains in custody pending compliance with the court’s bail conditions. The inability to satisfy the requirements means his release will be delayed until the necessary documentation and sureties are provided and approved.
The case continues to attract public attention, with political observers closely monitoring developments surrounding the former governor and the legal proceedings involving him.
