Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay Idibia has reacted to the backlash she received over her comment on designer Luminee’s page.
It is no longer news that the celebrity designer has welcomed her first child with disgraced actor, Baba Ijesha.
Just like many, Annie had taken to her comment section to congratulate the new mum.
Her comment didn’t sit well with netizens, who dragged her through the mud.
Reacting to the backlash, Annie feigned ignorance and questioned why she was getting dragged. She noted how Luminee once made a dress for her, which she liked and wore to AFRIMA.
“What’s going on? Please, guys, I do not understand. The lady made a nice dress for me a few months ago. I honestly don’t know what’s going on, guys. Saw her post on my TL about just having a baby and dropped a heart as congrats! Am I missing something? What did I do wrong? Cos, I’m genuinely lost o. Why the plenty insults guys? I honestly don’t know anything at all about her personal life, beyond the fact that she made the pretty dress I wore to AFRIMA.
Pls can someone enlighten me? Cos I truly do not know or have any idea what’s up!”.

Well, Annie isn’t the only one getting dragged. Her colleague, Mercy Aigbe, has come under fire for attending her baby shower. In clips that made rounds from the shower, Aigbe was captured providing moral support to the new mum, who was emotional at the surprise shower.
Biola Bayo, also came under fire after her interview with Ijesha. She took down the video from her YouTube page and hid it on her Instagram reel.
Admitting her wrongs, Biola shared a video of herself explaining the situation as she tendered an apology to Iyabo Ojo and Nigerians. Biola made it clear that she doesn’t and will never support a rapist.
Recall that in 2021, comedienne Princess accused Ijesha of defiling her 14-year-old ward. In a video that was made available online, the actress accused Baba Ijesha of molesting her daughter without consent.
In 2022, Baba Ijesha had bagged 5 years imprisonment for raping comedienne, Princess’s 14 years old daughter.
On Friday, November 15th, 2025, the famous actor was released from prison, after spending over three years in custody over alleged sexual assault.
Speaking out, Baba Ijesha, in an interview with Biola, had addressed his rape allegations, maintaining that he isn’t a pedophile nor a rapist. He said Princess knows she has betrayed everyone she has ever been friends with, and expressed how hurt he was by how Iyabo Ojo turned on him. He noted that he had taken care of her kids when they were younger, yet she doubted him.
