The Federal Government has deployed a digital monitoring dashboard to the Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT UBEB) to strengthen supervision, accountability and data-driven decision-making in basic education.
The dashboard, powered by the Nigerian Education Data Infrastructure (NEDI) and implemented by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, is designed to provide real-time information on school performance and operations, according to the ministry’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Ikharo Attah.
Speaking during the handover ceremony in Abuja, the Director of Information and Communication Technology at the Federal Ministry of Education, Zainab Abukur, who represented the Minister of Education, said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and aims to improve education governance through digital transformation.
According to her, the dashboard will display real-time data from NEDI to enable education administrators access accurate and up to date information on school performance and operations remotely. She added that it will reduce dependence on routine physical inspections while ensuring faster, more informed, and evidence-based decision making.
Abukur said the adoption of digital tools reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to building a more transparent, efficient and responsive education system focused on accountability and improved learning outcomes.
Receiving the dashboard on behalf of FCT UBEB, Acting Chairman, Florence Wenegeme described the intervention as timely and strategic, noting that it would enhance oversight of schools across the Federal Capital Territory and strengthen service delivery.
Following the handover, a technical team later demonstrated the dashboard’s monitoring features and operational capabilities to support school supervision and data management.
