Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni has reacted to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s recent advice encouraging Nigerian women to venture into small businesses such as akara and kulikuli production.
Speaking on the comment, Rufai sarcastically remarked that if the advice is to be followed, women should no longer aspire to become First Lady but instead focus on selling akara.
“Other ladies should not aspire to be First Lady like her; they should just start selling akara.”
His remark comes after the First Lady said that starting businesses like akara frying or roasted corn sales does not require much capital, adding that the grants provided by the government were intended to give women hope rather than serve as loans.
