Igbo Married Woman Who Faked Her N50million Kidnap Arrested in Hotel With Lover in Delta State

A married woman, identified as Oluchi, has been found in a hotel in Delta State after allegedly staging her own abd¥ction and demanding a N50 million ransom from her family.

Her children, including a daughter based in Canada, had appealed to the public for help in raising funds after the supposed kidnappers reduced the ransom demand to N20 million. The family had reported to police that she was abd¥cted in the Ikpoba Hill area of Ikpoba-Okha LGA, Edo State.

However, police investigations traced the phone number of a suspected accomplice to a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State, where officers reportedly found Oluchi and her lover together.

A source said the woman’s husband was invited to the station and informed of the discovery, adding that Oluchi pleaded with him not to reveal the truth to their children.

Reacting in an online video, her daughter, Anita, expressed shock and disappointment, saying the incident had devastated the family.

She said no ransom was paid, the money raised remained intact, and the family would refund donations. Anita added that police investigations revealed the alleged kidnapping was staged and linked to her mother’s relationship with the suspect.

Edo State Police spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident, stating that four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.
