A youth political mobilizer in Imo State, Comrade Ibeh Chukwuemeka, has warned the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, against any attempt to overturn the outcome of the party’s senatorial primary election in Orlu Zone.
In a statement made available to journalists, Comrade Ibeh insisted that Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh emerged as the rightful winner of the NDC senatorial primaries conducted on May 29, 2026, and cautioned party leaders against altering the results.
According to him, Odunzeh secured victory in eight out of the twelve local government areas that make up Orlu Zone. The local government areas where he reportedly won include Orlu, Oru East, Njaba, Nwangele, Nkwerre, Isu, Ideato North, and Ideato South.
The youth leader alleged that any move to deny Odunzeh the ticket could trigger widespread dissatisfaction among party supporters in Imo State.
He warned that aggrieved members and supporters could resort to a protest vote against Peter Obi during the January 2027 presidential election if the primary outcome is tampered with.
“We will mobilize for a protest vote across the 27 local government areas of Imo State if Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh’s victory is subverted,” Comrade Ibeh stated.
He further claimed that videos, photographs, and other materials from the direct primary election were available to authenticate the results and support their position.
