Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA), in partnership with the Make Big Tobacco Pay (MBTP) Alliance, cordially invites you to a press conference commemorating the 2026 World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) and the Global Week of Action Against Tobacco.
The event, themed “Unmasking the Appeal – Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction,” will highlight the tactics and products used by the tobacco and nicotine industries to attract users, especially young people, while drawing attention to the urgent need for stronger tobacco control measures and effective policy implementation.
The press conference will bring together civil society organisations, tobacco control advocates, and members of the global MBTP Alliance to discuss the health, economic, and environmental impacts of tobacco and nicotine products, including emerging products targeting vulnerable populations.
