The former APC chairman said both men were battling health challenges and that their condition had deteriorated during their time in captivity.

“Yahya is ill, and I am also battling sickness. As you know, I have been living on medication. Our condition is getting worse in this place,” he said.

He also stated that despite their age and medical conditions, they had been forced to trek long distances through forests alongside their abductors.

Yahya likewise appealed for urgent intervention, saying they had remained in captivity for an extended period without being rescued.

The captives urged their families, associates, and relevant authorities to take steps toward securing their release and reuniting them with their loved ones.

The video has renewed concerns over the persistent thr+at of kidnapping and banditry in parts of northern Nigeria.
