The United States has deported a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, following multiple criminal convictions and immigration violations, including domestic violence-related offences, in an ongoing enforcement operation targeting undocumented migrants with criminal records.

According to U.S. immigration authorities, the removal was carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after Ajayi was found to have overstayed his student visa and remained in the country without legal status.

Officials disclosed that Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but later discontinued his studies. He allegedly failed to regularize his immigration status after his visa expired, thereby becoming unlawfully present in the country.

ICE reported that during his stay in the United States, Ajayi accumulated a series of criminal convictions, including offences related to:

Domestic violence

Trespassing

Intimidation

Obstruction of justice

Authorities stated that these offences formed the basis of the enforcement action that ultimately led to his deportation. Some reports also referenced additional allegations linked to more serious crimes, although not all claims were confirmed as convictions in official court records cited by immigration authorities.

The deportation is part of broader U.S. immigration enforcement efforts focused on removing individuals with expired visas who have also been convicted of criminal offences. ICE emphasized that such operations prioritize cases involving public safety concerns, particularly those linked to violent or repeat offenders.

Ajayi’s removal follows standard procedures involving immigration detention, review of criminal records, and final deportation orders issued through U.S. immigration courts.
