Residents of a community have been left in shock following the alleged discovery of a young boy’s body after his step-parents reportedly confessed to killing him for ritual purposes.
According to reports shared by Igbo Pulse, the boy had been missing for several days, sparking concern among neighbours who initially believed he had been sent to stay with relatives or elsewhere.
However, as days turned into weeks without any sign of the child, suspicion began to mount. Concerned residents reportedly questioned the boy’s stepmother about his whereabouts on several occasions, but she allegedly maintained that she had no knowledge of where he was.
The situation took a dramatic turn when a member of the community allegedly claimed to have seen the missing boy in a dream. According to the account, the child revealed in the dream that he had been murdered by his step-parents and secretly buried.
Disturbed by the revelation, the individual reportedly informed neighbours, prompting renewed scrutiny and pressure on the couple.
Sources say the growing tension within the community eventually led to the husband and wife allegedly confessing to the crime. They were said to have led residents to a shallow grave where the boy’s body had been buried.
The corpse was subsequently exhumed, sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood as residents gathered in disbelief over the gruesome discovery.
In a disturbing scene, the couple were reportedly paraded alongside the child’s remains as they allegedly admitted to killing him for money ritual purposes.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while residents continue to demand justice for the deceased child.
