Nigerian skitmaker and actor Akinyoola Ayoola, better known as Kamo State, has won the hearts of many after cancelling his birthday party.
Kemi Filani reported days ago that the actor, who would turn a new age on June 14, announced that he was throwing a party for his fans in celebration of his birthday.
However, following the crisis in the country, Kamo announced in an Instagram video that he was cancelling his birthday celebration. According to him, it is due to the insecurity and kidnapping of Oyo children and teachers.
He noted how it would be insensitive of him and his team to organise a party when families are grieving their loved ones.
“I said I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a few of my fans and posted it on all social platforms. Since the post, I’ve had 60,000 comments. I am so grateful, y’all are Kamonation. I am here to tell you all that I have postponed my birthday for this year. I am not celebrating it anymore because we can’t have a party at this time. It would be insensitive of me and my team to plan anything at this time. The insecurity, the abducted children and teachers, and all we can do is to lend our voices.

His decision was met with praise from his fans.
Tems had come under fire for announcing the release of a new song. In her announcement, she said the song is what everyone needs. Her statement didn’t sit well with many, who mercilessly dragged her.
It isn’t surprising as lots of celebrities are getting backlash for being insensitive to the insecurity in the country.
Jide Awobona had responded to the backlash he received over a video in which he spoke about the country’s insecurity. He admonished the public not to attack their fellow Nigerians, revealing that he received over a million comments, with people expressing anger, frustration, and even wishing he would become the target himself.
Singer, Davido had cleared the air about his relationship with Seyi Tinubu after being called performative for speaking out about the country’s insecurity. Davido said he isn’t part of the city boy group and has been friends with Seyi for years, and that won’t change. He revealed that he often calls the president’s son to complain, cursing the tweep.
On Children’s Day on May 27th, many grieved the abduction of 46 children in Oyo State.
Many celebrities took to their Instagram page to share an unhappy children’s day message, as they expressed heartbreak over the abduction. The likes of Ruth Kadiri, Paul Okoye, Sotayo Gaga, Patience Ozokwo, Kehinde Bankole, Biola Bayo, Toke Makinwa, Mercy Eke and more grieved over them.
Lateef Adedimeji called on the government to address the ongoing crises in the country. He noted that the election is around the corner and that they’re making promises again. He further noted how innocent children are in the loins of daredevils, yet it’s business as usual for them.
In a previous post, Lateef had spoken out over the abduction of Oyo children, saying that, as a father, he knows what this means and questioned the authorities on their promises. He admonished them to get the kids back home and prove their humanity.
Kunle Remi noted that despite the happenings in the country, election campaigns and preparations continue, and bloggers are posting as if everything is normal. Kunle prayed that we may never become so used to tragedy that we stop feeling it.
Ruth Kadiri, wrote a letter to President Tinubu, urging him to either do something about the alarming rate of death in the country or give people the go-ahead to protect their lives and properties. Kadiri noted how there is too much death in the country and how being a Nigerian isn’t safe anymore.
Actress Lala Akindoju, had spoken on the alarming rate of killings and kidnapping in Nigeria. She questioned who is speaking for those who can’t sleep and are in anguish, and noted how the office of the Nigerian citizens is very weak.
