During that difficult period, she claimed that her son was taken away from her and remained separated from her for 13 years.

The long wait, she said, was marked by sleepless nights, endless prayers and unwavering faith that one day they would be reunited.

In an emotional social media post, Christine compared the reunion to the biblical story of Moses and the Israelites crossing the Red Sea.

“God Himself commanded the sea to open, and it parted without sending Moses. My son Myles just passed through that sea from a refugee country, and now the sea is closed,” she wrote.

The overwhelmed mother described June 22, 2026, as the day everything changed.

She said circumstances suddenly aligned, allowing her son to return to his home country, the US, where he was reunited with his mother, sibling and stepfather, Fred Mayunga.

For Christine, the reunion was more than just the end of a long separation; it was proof that hope can survive even the most difficult circumstances.
