…suspect remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre

A suspect accused of assault occasioning harm and domestic violence has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre following his arrest and subsequent prosecution by the Lagos State Police Command.
The arrest followed a viral video report alleging that Emeka Joseph assaulted Ezeka Chisom.
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was assaulted by the suspect, with whom she had been cohabiting. The victim reportedly sustained facial injuries during the incident.
The suspect has since been charged before a court and remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
The case has been adjourned until 3 August 2026.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for all forms of domestic violence.
He assured members of the public that cases involving violence and abuse would continue to receive prompt attention and diligent investigation.
The CP also urged residents to promptly report cases of domestic violence and other criminal activities to the nearest police station or police formation.
