A sombre mood engulfed Kirindine Day Secondary School in Igembe South after the institution lost two teachers in a tragic road accident that occurred at night along the Antubuchiu-Red Canteen road.

The deceased teachers, identified as Lian Mugendi and Eric Muchangi, were reportedly travelling from Maua town on a boda boda when the fatal accident happened.
According to police reports, one of the teachers was riding the motorcycle while the other was a passenger. Preliminary investigations indicate that the boda boda was moving at a high speed when the rider lost control while negotiating a corner.
“They were unable to control the boda at the corner, causing the accident,” a police officer said.

The motorcycle veered off the road and plunged into a ditch, leading to devastating consequences. One of the teachers died instantly at the scene, while the other succumbed to injuries shortly after being rushed to hospital for treatment.
