It all started with a chance encounter between Juliette Awata, who had gone to the park as a visitor, and a young nail technician.
Juliette told NGBREAKINGNEWS that she had gone to the park expecting a relaxed day when she was approached by a man offering nail services.
She explained that she had already done her nails previously, but decided to engage him anyway after noticing his hustle and determination to attract customers in the busy public space.
“He asked if he could do my nails while I was chilling,” she said. “I had already done them, but I thought, why not support him and promote his work?”
The man charged just KSh 100 for toenail polish, a modest price that reflected both his effort and the informal nature of his work.
Touched by his initiative, Juliette decided to go beyond the service fee. Instead of paying the agreed amount, she handed him KSh 1,000, hoping to encourage and uplift him.
What followed, she says, was a moment she will not forget as the smile on the man’s face was priceless.
“He was so shocked and happy. I’m glad I made his day,” she recalled.
The small act of generosity quickly transformed an ordinary exchange into a powerful reminder of the impact of kindness.
For Juliette, it was a simple decision. For the young man, it was a moment of encouragement that may well stay with him far beyond that day at the park.
Juliette Awata first went viral on social media when she agreed to go on a date with a man who had been chatting with her online.
She expected a good day out when the two met for drinks at a rooftop restaurant in Nairobi’s Sarit Centre, but it was not to be.
Things went south after the man excused himself to make a call and disappeared, leaving her with a KSh 10,000 hotel bill.
