Napoli sign Hojlund from Man United permanently

Rasmus Hojlund has completed a permanent transfer to Napoli from Manchester United after a successful loan spell with the Italian club.

The Denmark international spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Napoli, where he scored 16 goals and registered six assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Napoli’s obligation-to-buy clause was activated after the club secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League, making the move permanent.

The deal is worth a total of €50 million.

Napoli had initially paid a €6 million loan fee before the €44 million permanent transfer clause came into effect.

Hojlund played a key role in Napoli’s campaign, helping the club win the Supercoppa Italiana and finish runners-up in Serie A under manager Antonio Conte.

Manchester United confirmed the striker’s departure in a statement.

The club said: “Rasmus Hojlund has joined Napoli on a permanent transfer.”

The statement added: “Everyone at the club would like to wish Rasmus all the very best for the future.”

Hojlund joined United from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 and went on to score 26 goals in 95 appearances for the club.

The boyhood United supporter was part of the squad that won the Emirates FA Cup in May 2024, coming off the bench in the final against Manchester City at Wembley.

After returning to Italy on loan at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, the 23-year-old rediscovered his best form and established himself as an important player for Napoli.

His permanent departure brings an end to a three-year association with United and concludes a move that began with his season-long loan to the Serie A side.
