Navy Arrests Terrorist Logistics Suspect in Lake Chad Using Drone Intelligence

The Nigerian Navy has recorded another operational success in the fight against terrorism, arresting a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in the Lake Chad region following a coordinated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission.

The operation, carried out under the ongoing Operation HADIN KAI, leveraged advanced drone technology to track and monitor the suspect’s movements before security personnel moved in for the arrest.

According to military sources, the suspect is believed to have been involved in providing logistical support to terrorist elements operating within the Lake Chad Basin, a region that has witnessed persistent insurgent activities over the years.

The successful arrest highlights the growing effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and the military’s increasing reliance on modern surveillance technology to disrupt terrorist networks and cut off their supply chains.

Security officials noted that the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation, while efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the logistics network linked to terrorist groups in the area.

The Nigerian military has continued to intensify counterterrorism operations across the North-East, with Operation HADIN KAI playing a key role in targeting insurgent hideouts, intercepting supplies, and enhancing security in affected communities.

The arrest is expected to further weaken the operational capabilities of terrorist groups by disrupting the movement of resources and support essential to their activities.
