NDC Remains on Ballot, Victory Certain — Sam Chuks Okpanduka

The Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Awka South II Constituency, Sam Chuks Okpanduka, has reassured party faithful, supporters, admirers, and the good people of Awka South II that the NDC remains firmly on the ballot and is well-positioned to record a landslide victory in the forthcoming elections despite ongoing distractions by opponents of democracy.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Okpanduka expressed profound appreciation to the people for their massive support, prayers, and confidence in the party’s vision of delivering purposeful representation and people-oriented governance.

He stated that the recent legal developments involving the party should not be a source of anxiety, stressing that the NDC remains united, resilient, and fully committed to participating in the elections while pursuing every lawful avenue to address the issues before the courts.

“The Nigeria Democratic Congress remains firmly on the ballot. Our party is strong, united, and determined to offer Nigerians a credible alternative. We have absolute confidence that truth, justice, and the rule of law will prevail,” he said.

According to the Awka South II hopeful, resistance against emerging political movements is not unusual, especially when they begin to inspire hope and gain widespread acceptance among the electorate. He noted that the leadership of the NDC has demonstrated maturity and respect for democratic institutions by seeking judicial redress rather than resorting to actions capable of undermining the nation’s democracy.

Okpanduka therefore urged supporters across the constituency to remain calm, steadfast, and focused, warning them against rumours, propaganda, and misinformation aimed at creating confusion or discouraging voters.

“Our mission remains unchanged. We are committed to restoring the people’s voice in governance, providing quality representation, and delivering the dividends of democracy to every community in Awka South II Constituency. Nothing should distract us from this noble objective,” he added.

He further observed that the momentum built by the party across the wards continues to grow, expressing confidence that the NDC would secure overwhelming victories, not only in Awka South II Constituency but across various elective positions.

The NDC candidate called on members and supporters to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and continue mobilising eligible voters across the constituency, emphasizing that democracy can only thrive when citizens remain united in defending their constitutional right to freely choose their leaders.

Okpanduka concluded by expressing optimism that the current challenges would strengthen the party’s resolve, insisting that the journey towards a more inclusive, accountable, and people-centred government remains unstoppable.

“Let us remain united and hopeful. Together, we shall protect our votes, defend democracy, and usher in a new era of accountable leadership. The journey continues, and by the grace of God, victory is certain.”
