The National Examinations Council(NECO) said it is recruiting no fewer than 22,000 supervisors to ensure a seamless conduct of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination Internal scheduled to commence on 15th June, 2026.
In a press statement signed by NECO’s Ag. Director, Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, the Council stated that in line with the recommendations of the Ministerial Committee on the Improvement of Quality of Examination in Nigeria, and in a bid to strengthen Examination Supervision Mechanism, it has transitioned from the analogue mode of recruitment of Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors to a fully electronic process.
NECO added that the supervisor recruitment on its website is fully automated and no third party is required, noting that this new recruitment system will prevent fraud in the recruitment of supervisors, prevent examination malpractice and enhance fairness and credibility in the process.
“It should be noted that the supervisor recruitment on NECO website is fully automated and no third party is required.
“This new recruitment system will prevent fraud in the recruitment of supervisors, prevent examination malpractice and enhance fairness and credibility in the recruitment process,” the statement said.
NECO noted that all qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above who are not less than 30 years of age and are interested in serving as supervisor in the 2026 SSCE Internal should apply on the Council’s website.
At the same time, NECO has alerted members of the public to the existence of fake online portals for the recruitment of Examination Supervisors.
The Council said the fake portals have been requesting interested members of the public to log on with the details of their academic credentials after making some payments.
“NECO wishes to inform the public that it does not request for any payment from teachers applying to serve as examination supervisors in the forthcoming 2026 SSCE Internal,” the statement said.
