A fatal road accident in Adamawa State has killed six people, among them four members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The crash occurred in the Narehi area along the Girei-Song Local Government road, involving a military gun truck heading from Gombi to Yola and a commercial Hummer bus travelling in the opposite direction toward Mubi.

The two vehicles collided head-on, causing the bus to overturn and catch fire.

All five passengers on board the commercial bus were burned to death.

Four of those five victims were identified as serving corps members posted to Adamawa State.

Two have been named Suleiman Juliet and Usman Shuaibu, both from Kaduna State while the identities of the remaining two are yet to be confirmed.

A soldier attached to the military vehicle also lost his life in the crash, bringing the total death toll to six.

The bodies have been taken to the Specialist Hospital in Yola, and police say efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining victims and reach their families.

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, the Nigerian Army, and the NYSC.
