Osun 2026: An Open Letter to Omisore, by Oluwasegun Aina

Dear Senator Iyiola Omisore,

As Osun State gradually moves towards another defining governorship election, the attention of political stakeholders, party faithful, and the people of the state is increasingly turning to one man whose influence remains undeniable in the political equation of Osun—Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Leadership is not merely about occupying positions; it is about the ability to inspire, mobilize, and influence the direction of a people. Over the years, you have demonstrated these qualities through your service as Deputy Governor, Senator of the Federal Republic, and former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Your political experience, network, and grassroots appeal have made you one of the most formidable political figures in Osun State.

As the 2026 governorship election approaches, your role is expected to be pivotal. Many political observers believe that the outcome of the election may largely depend on the alliances, endorsements, and strategic decisions taken by respected leaders such as yourself.

For many years, former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has remained a central pillar of the APC in Osun State, while elder statesman and APC founding leader, Chief Bisi Akande, continues to command immense respect across political divides. However, there is no denying that your support and political machinery remain crucial to the party’s success.

Many party faithful are hopeful that you will deploy your vast political influence towards strengthening the APC and supporting the emergence of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the next Governor of Osun State.

Such a move (Supporting Oyebamiji), they argue, would further consolidate party unity and enhance the APC’s chances of reclaiming power.

Ajani mi, history has shown that political victories are rarely achieved by individual efforts alone. They are built through strategic partnerships, sacrifice, and the collective resolve of committed leaders. Your capacity to bridge divides and rally support across political and social groups remains one of your greatest assets.

Without doubt, the APC remains stronger when leaders of your stature are fully involved in its affairs. Your voice matters, your influence counts, and your decision in the coming months may significantly shape the political future of Osun State.

As the countdown to the governorship election continues, many eyes remain fixed on you—not merely as a former office holder, but as a political titan whose next move could leave an enduring mark on the history of Osun State.

The people await your leadership. The party values your contribution. History watches your decision.
