Owo Church Attack: We Will Appeal Death Sentence Verdict — Defendant Counsel, Abdullah Mohammed

The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced four members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group to death by hanging over their involvement in the June 5, 2022 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State. One other suspect was discharged and acquitted.

Delivering judgment, the court found the three defendants guilty of participating in the d+adly a§§ault, while the fourth defendant was acquitted.

However, defence counsel, Abdullahi Mohammad, expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling and confirmed plans to challenge it at a higher court....... .
