Oyo Govt Demolishes Alleged Kidnappers’ Hideout Used In Abduction Of Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons

The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow allegedly used as a hideout by suspected kidnappers who abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons in Ibadan.

The property, located in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan, was pulled down on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with security support from operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly abducted on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, around the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan.

They were later rescued by police operatives on Saturday, June 6, 2026, after a security operation that reportedly led to the killing of two suspected kidnappers in a gun duel.

Government officials said the demolition was part of ongoing efforts by the state to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes across Oyo State.

According to the state government, properties found to have been used for criminal activities will not be spared, as the administration intensifies efforts to dismantle criminal networks and protect residents.

The demolition exercise was carried out under tight security, with heavy equipment moved to the area by state officials.

The government said the action was intended to send a strong warning to criminal elements that Oyo State would not provide a safe haven for kidnappers or their collaborators.
