The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted Appeal Panels to address petitions and complaints arising from its Primary Elections for Presidential, Governorship, State and National Assembly positions ahead of the 2027 elections.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, revealed this in a statement he issued on Thursday.
According to Mohammed, the move is aimed at promoting transparency, fairness and internal democracy within the party’s electoral process.
Those to serve on the States and National Assembly Appeals Panel include Suleiman Afolagbe, as Chairman, with members as Dr. Erastus C. Awortu, Okoye Charles, Hon. Mtom Isaac Terkuma, Hon. Matthew Yari, George Ariolu, Mark O. Lawrence, and Abdul Kumo, with Nnenna Aladum serving as Secretary.
For the governorship and presidential Appeals Panel, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed is to serve as Chairman.
The members of the panel are Hon. Aaron Chukwuemeka, Hon. Yusuf Nya Akirikwen (SAN), Odeyemi Mackson Oladiran, Hon. Etim Donatus Henry, 6. Hon. Umar M. Bature, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Hon. Jungudo Haruna Muhammed, Osuoha Donatus, Prof. Ogunshe Adedayo, Ibrahim Bala Aboki, Chief Dan Osi Orbi, Ray Nnaji, Engr. Deji Doherty, and Hon. Babangida Modibbo.
Other members are Dr. James Ambua, Hon. Jones Onyereri, Hon. Isah Dansidi, Yahaya Abdullahi, Mary Sanya, Hon. Helen Adebakin, Hon. Hassan Sokodabo, and Otunba Olabisi Kolawale.
The National Secretary of the party, Samuel N. Anyanwu, will serve as Secretary.
While the governorship and presidential Appeal Panel will sit on June 10, 2026 at the NWC Hall, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, the States and National Assembly will have their hearing on June 8 and 9, 2026 at the same venue.
The Appeal Panels will hear and review appeals from contestants and stakeholders who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the primaries and make recommendations in line with the party’s Constitution, Electoral Guidelines, and the relevant provisions of the law.
The PDP noted that the constitution of the appeal panels underscores its commitment to credible candidate selection processes as preparations for forthcoming elections gather momentum.
