Nigerian content creator Jarvis has responded strongly to rapper Ycee after he allegedly referred to her husband as “Olodo Uprising.”
In a viral reaction, Jarvis defended her husband and questioned the criticism often directed at young Nigerians who are trying to make a living through unconventional means.
According to her, many graduates are struggling because of the country’s economic realities and lack of employment opportunities despite spending years in school.
In her words:
“I went to school and graduated, but the government didn’t provide jobs for us. What exactly did you expect us to do?
Did your president go to school? Tell that to your president.
You can’t expect people with great potential and intelligence to end up cleaning toilets after spending years in school.
Some have turned to theft, kidnapping, and armed robbery because there are no jobs.
We’re only trying to entertain people and earn a living.
We should be grateful for social media because it has helped many of us make money. Without it, I don’t know what Nigeria would look like today.
Please keep my man’s name out of your mouth.”
