Social media activist and commentator, VeryDarkMan, has sparked reactions after confronting personnel at a Nigerian military base in Abuja over the country’s worsening security situation.
In a video circulating online, VeryDarkMan questioned the military’s handling of insecurity, expressing frustration over reports of kidnappings, killings, and attacks on communities across the country.
Addressing armed personnel, the activist said it was unacceptable for security forces to be heavily armed around civilians while criminals continued to operate in various parts of Nigeria.
“They are raping our women, beheaded a teacher, our children are still in the bush, and you’re here holding a gun. Are you not ashamed of yourself?” he said.
He further challenged the Nigerian Air Force to intensify operations against kidnappers and bandits, arguing that the same resources deployed for other assignments should be directed toward tackling criminal groups terrorising communities.
“Nigeria Air Force, if you have bullets to shoot us, you should also have bullets to shoot kidnappers and bandits. Take your aircraft to the bush and shoot them,” he added.
