Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has warned members of the Fulani community in Igboho, Oyo State, over the spate of kidnapping and insecurity in the area.
In a video circulating on social media on Saturday, Igboho was seen addressing Fulani leaders and community members at what appeared to be a meeting with traditional leaders and elders.
Expressing anger over recent incidents of kidnapping, including the alleged killing of a pregnant woman and a ransom bearer, Igboho accused some Fulanis of terrorising residents in his hometown.
“You cannot be kidnapping people in our hometown. You kidnapped someone in my hometown; she was pregnant, and you still killed her. The person who brought the ransom, you still killed him and spared only one person,” he said.
The activist warned that he had exercised restraint only because traditional rulers had appealed to him.
“I am Sunday Igboho. I am calm because my fathers asked me to be calm with you. Let this be the last time such a thing will happen. Has any Fulani man been kidnapped in this town? Please talk to your people,” he said.
He further threatened, “I will enter your household and kill everybody. You can’t be kidnapping people in my hometown. I am Sunday Igboho, and I am from this hometown.”
