A woman has sparked concern on social media after sharing a video showing clean water reportedly rising from the ground and flooding her shop in Lagos.
In the viral clip, the visibly worried woman questioned whether Lagos was sinking, explaining that the water appeared to be coming from beneath the floor rather than from rainfall.
Expressing her concern, she said:
“Is Lagos sinking? Because water is actually coming out from the ground. Look inside my shop. It’s filled with water, and what’s disturbing is that the water is clean… and it’s still rising.”
The video has generated mixed reactions online, with some users suggesting the incident could be linked to groundwater saturation, while others blamed poor drainage or ongoing infrastructure projects. Some also turned the incident into a political debate.

Na politics money… she should call out govt for poor drainage. No one is praying for anybody. Since she can’t cry she should collect the money from Remi Tinubu.
