Tinubu Surrounded by ‘Second-Class’ Advisers – Laolu Akande

Former presidential media aide, Laolu Akande, has criticised the quality of people around President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the President is not getting the kind of counsel he needs.

Akande, who served as Senior Special Assistant to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo during the Buhari administration, said Tinubu must “sit up” and surround himself with more competent advisers.

According to him, the President has managed to surround himself with what he described as “second class, third class” and low-level people.

“Our President has managed to surround himself with second class, third class, third level, 10th, 11 kind of people. He is not getting the kind of counsel he needs. He needs to sit up,” Akande said.

His comment comes amid growing criticism of the Tinubu administration over insecurity, economic hardship, governance decisions and the quality of political advice reaching the Presidency.

Akande’s remarks are expected to spark fresh debate over the influence of presidential aides, advisers and political loyalists in shaping government decisions.
