SECURITY ALERT — Southern Borno
Credible intelligence indicates that Boko Haram, a violent extremist organization responsible for mass atrocities in Nigeria, is planning coordinated attacks on military positions and civilian communities in Gwoza Local Government Area, Southern Borno.
Sources say the planned assault follows a breach of an alleged agreement between the group and certain influential political actors.

Residents in the following areas are urged to remain vigilant:
- Ngoshe — east of Gwoza, near the Cameroon border
- Pulka — southwest of Gwoza, on the Bama road
- Kirawa — southeast of Gwoza, close to Cameroon
- Limankara — south of Gwoza
- Ashigashiya — east of Gwoza, in the Mandara mountain belt
- Izge — south of Gwoza
- Attagara — northeast of Gwoza
