VeryDarkMan Speaks on Abuja Protest, Denies Claims of Selective Teargas Use, Explains “Tinubu Must Go” Chant Suspension

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has reacted to circulating claims surrounding a recent protest in Abuja, where some users alleged that certain protesters were being teargassed while he and members of his Ratel group were not affected.

In a statement shared after the protest, VeryDarkMan described the claims as “propaganda,” insisting that the narrative being spread online was misleading and did not reflect what actually happened at the protest ground.

He further explained why he stopped the popular chant “Tinubu Must Go” during the demonstration, stating that the protest had begun to attract supporters of different presidential aspirants, which, according to him, changed the original direction of the movement.

VeryDarkMan said he chose to suspend the political chant to avoid what he described as a possible hijacking of the protest or its transformation into a partisan political campaign.

He emphasised that he does not associate with politically driven movements and preferred the protest to remain focused on its original purpose.
