The heartbreaking incident unfolded on Monday in Plantation, Florida, where the child’s father reportedly forgot to drop his son off at daycare before heading to work.
Believing the toddler had already been left safely at the nursery, the father continued with his day, unaware that the boy remained strapped into his car seat.
The horrifying mistake only came to light hours later when the father arrived at the daycare centre after work to collect his son.

According to KATV, staff at the institution informed him that the child had not been dropped off that morning.
In a moment that witnesses described as unimaginable, the father rushed back to his vehicle and found his son unresponsive in the rear seat, where he had remained throughout the day in scorching temperatures.
Emergency services were called to A World of Discovery Academy at around 5.39 pm following reports of a deceased child inside a vehicle.
Officers from the Plantation Police Department and firefighters attended the scene, but the toddler was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
Authorities have not publicly identified the child, although local media reported that he was an 18-month-old boy enrolled at the daycare centre.
According to Leslie Novoa, the academy’s director and owner, the family had been part of the centre’s community for around six years, with the boy’s older sibling also attending.
Novoa shared that the father had been responsible for dropping the toddler off that morning but forgot the child was still in the vehicle before driving to work.

Later that day, he arrived at the daycare believing his son had spent the day there as usual.
The family had reportedly informed staff in advance that the older sibling would not be attending that day.
When the younger child also failed to arrive, staff did not immediately realise there was a problem.
Recalling the father’s reaction when he learnt the truth, Novoa described a scene of overwhelming grief.
“He opened the door, then slammed it shut,” she said. “And he let out this scream.”
The daycare owner described the family as loving and devoted parents, adding that the tragedy had deeply affected everyone connected to the centre.
“This is a tragedy that happened to them and to all of us,” she said.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death. Authorities have not said whether any charges will be filed, and no further details have been released.
