A woman identified only as a 24-year-old student has shared a startling account of how financial hardship allegedly led her into prostitution, claiming she had sexual encounters with about 600 men within the space of one year.
According to reports that have circulated online for several years, the woman, identified with the pseudonym “Beatrice Okeke” to protect her identity, said she was pursuing vocational studies when her relationship with a man who had been sponsoring her education came to an end.
She alleged that after the breakup, she struggled to meet her financial needs and eventually turned to commercial sex work as a means of survival.
The woman claimed she charged clients between ₦5,000 and ₦15,000, depending on the circumstances, and estimated that she had slept with approximately 600 men over a one-year period.

She also alleged that she underwent two abortions during that time and admitted that the experience had a significant impact on her physical and emotional well-being.
According to her account, she later regretted the decisions she made and expressed a desire to leave prostitution behind and rebuild her life.
The story has resurfaced several times on social media and news websites, generating widespread reactions from Nigerians. While many readers expressed sympathy over the role financial hardship may have played in her decisions, others questioned the accuracy of her claims and stressed the importance of making better life choices despite difficult circumstances.
