British pop singer Lauren Bennett, best known for her vocals on LMFAO’s 2011 global hit Party Rock Anthem, has died at the age of 37.
Her girl group, G.R.L, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram post on Monday, paying tribute to the singer and describing her as someone whose warmth, kindness and vibrant spirit left a lasting impact on everyone around her.
“We share with deep sadness the death of our darling Lauren. Our hearts are devastated, and we can’t describe how much she meant to us.
“We will always treasure the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us.
“Her beautiful spirit impacted so many lives, and she will be sadly missed and always cherished. Rest peacefully, Lauren.
“You’ll always be in our hearts.”
The group did not disclose the cause of Bennett’s death.
Born in Meopham, Kent, Bennett began her musical journey by performing at local talent shows, taverns and bars before auditioning for The X Factor as a teenager. Although she did not make it into the competition’s final 12 contestants, she later moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to pursue her music career.
She first gained recognition as a member of the girl group Paradiso Girls. Their 2009 single Patron Tequila, featuring Lil Jon and Eve, reached No. 3 on the US Dance Club Songs chart.
Lauren rose to international fame in 2011 after providing vocals on LMFAO’s chart-topping anthem Party Rock Anthem, one of the biggest global hits of the decade.
She later joined G.R.L, where she enjoyed further success with the group’s hit single Ugly Heart, which charted strongly in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
Following news of her passing, fans and fellow musicians have continued to pay tribute to Bennett, remembering her contributions to pop music and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
