MAPOLY Governing Council Promotes 24 Senior Academic Staff

The Governing Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, has approved the promotion and appointment of 24 senior academic staff as part of efforts to enhance staff motivation and strengthen academic excellence at the institution.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the approval was granted during the Council’s statutory meeting held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

The promotions comprise 10 Chief Lecturers, 13 Principal Lecturers and one Chief Technologist.

According to the institution, the appointments cover the 2022, 2023 and 2024 promotion exercises and will take retrospective effect from October 1 of each respective year.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Emeritus Prof. Kamaldeen Balogun, said the Council remained committed to ensuring that promotions and appointments were conducted promptly in line with established procedures.

Balogun noted that timely career progression was essential to boosting staff morale and repositioning the polytechnic among leading institutions in the country’s polytechnic system.

He also commended members of staff for their dedication and commitment to the growth and development of the institution.

The Rector, Arc. Dr. Babatunde Koye Jolaoso, congratulated the newly promoted staff and assured workers of fairness, equity and justice in matters relating to career advancement.

Jolaoso urged the beneficiaries to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating greater commitment, improved productivity and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The institution said the promotions reflected its commitment to rewarding excellence and sustaining academic standards through a transparent and merit-driven promotion process.
