Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has shared her perspective on success, advising that marriage and having children should not be viewed as life’s greatest achievements.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actress reflected on success, personal growth, and the values she hopes to instill in her future daughter.
According to Etinosa, while hard work is important, it is not the only factor that determines success. She believes grace and divine timing also play significant roles in a person’s journey.
“The difference between successful actors and not successful actors… I feel like it’s grace. Hard work is part of it, but I can never say hard work is all of it.”
Speaking about the lessons she intends to teach her daughter, the actress said self-respect and self-worth are qualities she considers essential.
“If I don’t teach my daughter anything, I will teach her how to respect herself, how to value herself.”
She explained that women who value and respect themselves are less likely to tolerate disrespect from others.
Etinosa also addressed societal expectations placed on women, arguing that women are often judged more harshly than men for similar actions.
According to her, successful women are sometimes unfairly labelled as “Ash£wo,” even though there are men who also engage in transactional relationships to advance their careers or achieve personal goals.
She further encouraged women to avoid comparing themselves with others and instead draw inspiration from the success of others, noting that women often face greater scrutiny than men in similar circumstances.
