How did Aggrey meet his wife?
The father of one said he met his wife while working at a pool table in the Baba Dogo area, where she was selling porridge.
He explained that, at first, he was not interested in pursuing a relationship because he believed she was already married.
“I met my wife in the area where I lived. I used to see her around, but I wasn’t that interested in her because of the way she carried herself. I thought she was someone’s wife. She was hawking porridge and I was working at a pool table. With time, we got to know each other,” he shared.
After six months, the two became a couple, and she frequently visited Aggrey at his home as their relationship blossomed.
They eventually decided to move in together and began living as husband and wife by mutual agreement.
A few months later, the woman became pregnant just as the coronavirus pandemic hit the country. Aggrey said the pregnancy brought them joy, as they were excited about starting a family together.

As time passed, they welcomed their son, while Aggrey worked as a matatu tout to provide for his wife and child.
“Whenever we faced challenges during those first three years, I believed they were the normal ups and downs that come with marriage. I always thought we would apologise, talk things through and move on. Everything would be okay,” Aggrey recalled.
However, he claimed the relationship took a turn during their fourth year together, when his wife allegedly began questioning his whereabouts more frequently.
When did marital problems begin between Aggrey and his wife?
He explained that his wife claimed she had a talent that whatever dream she had was the truth, and during that period she dreamed that Aggrey was seeing someone else.
“She told me that she slept and she dreamt that when I close work for the day, there is somewhere I always go to before coming home,” he said.
According to Aggrey, his work sometimes required him to stay out until 9 pm, depending on traffic, the availability of passengers and other work-related factors.

He alleged that this became a major source of conflict, with his wife accusing him of being unfaithful.
“I tried explaining to her the nature of my work, but she could not understand. She kept saying she had dreamt that I was seeing another woman, which was not true. I even asked her how I could have another woman when every shilling I earned came home, but she insisted,” he said.
Aggrey also recounted several occasions when, he claimed, his wife caused scenes that attracted the attention of neighbours. He further alleged that she physically assaulted him using various household items.
“At one point, she grabbed a one-litre bottle full of water and hit me with it. I think all the fighting and arguing deeply affected and traumatised my son. Right now, he hates being anywhere people are arguing,” he said.
The father of one said the final straw came when they recently got into a physical confrontation that was captured on video.
According to Aggrey, the two were fighting over custody of their six-year-old son, with each parent wanting the child to remain with them.

During the altercation, which showed their son crying and pleading to stay with his father, Aggrey sustained injuries to his cheeks, with visible scratch marks that he claimed were caused by his wife’s fingernails.
The father of one said he has now reached a breaking point, explaining that the emotional pain has left him feeling overwhelmed.
He revealed that he carries a handwritten letter addressed to his son and the world wherever he goes, saying he wrote it in case anything ever happens to him, a reflection of the deep emotional toll he says the marriage has taken on his life.
