Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his wife, Chioma, completely manages his finances because he considers himself a “reckless spender”.
The disclosure came to light in a viral video trending online in July 2026, captured while the singer was walking with his team toward a private jet.
Davido pulled out his phone to call Chioma because network issues blocked him from logging into his banking application.
He asked her to send $4,000 (roughly ₦6.5 million) to his longtime personal assistant and associate, Lati.
In the viral footage, Davido is heard saying: “Hello, hello baby, good morning my wife, my love. Help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t login, I don’t know why, it’s the service here.
“Alright. We’re taking off now to Naija, I love you,” Davido said during the call.
After the call, the streamer asked whether Chioma had taken over managing his finances.
“So your wife has been managing the money?” the streamer asked.
Davido responded with a smile, admitting that the arrangement was necessary because of his spending habits.
“Of course. You know I’m a reckless spender. Na she dey arrange everything. Na my life coordinator be that,” he said.
The lighthearted exchange has since generated reactions on social media, with many fans praising the couple’s relationship and commending Chioma for helping manage the singer’s finances.
Davido and Chioma, who tied the knot in a lavish traditional wedding ceremony in 2024, have continued to draw admiration from fans for their public displays of support and affection.
