Sanwo-Olu Felicitates Ogun First Lady, Bamidele Abiodun, on Her 60th Birthday

• Abiodun pays tribute to Osoba at 87

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, on the occasion of her 60th birthday.

 In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu described Mrs. Abiodun as an Amazon, a devoted wife and mother, and a strong pillar of support in the administration of Ogun State.

The governor commended her positive energy, development initiatives, and compassionate leadership, stating that these qualities have contributed significantly to the growth and wellbeing of the people of Ogun State.

The governor stated, “Today’s celebrant has been a part of my family, not just as the wife of my brother, Governor Dapo Abiodun, but also as a very close friend and ally of my dear wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. The two of them share the same values.

“On behalf of my wife, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I heartily congratulate the Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, on her Diamond Jubilee celebration.

“Attaining the age of 60 in grace and elegance is worth celebrating. Her tenure as First Lady has witnessed monumental achievements across Ogun State. She has also been a strong pillar of support to her husband, Governor Dapo Abiodun.”

Abiodun Pays Tribute to Osoba at 87

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, paid glowing tributes to one of his predecessors, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, on the occasion of his 87th birthday.

Abiodun described Osoba as an extraordinary patriot, a distinguished journalist, an exceptional democrat, and one of Nigeria’s finest political leaders whose life had been dedicated to the service of humanity.

Abiodun said Osoba’s remarkable journey through journalism, politics, and public service remained a shining testament to courage, integrity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to truth and justice.

Osoba, a two-time Governor of Ogun State, is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished journalists and respected democratic icons.

The governor stated that Osoba’s enduring legacy transcended political office, stressing that his influence as a mentor, bridge-builder, and statesman has continued to shape generations of leaders within and beyond Ogun State.

He stated, “Today, we celebrate not just the passing of another year in the life of an exceptional leader, but a lifetime of uncommon service, courage, and sacrifice.

“Aremo Olusegun Osoba belongs to that rare generation of Nigerians whose lives have profoundly impacted the course of our nation’s democratic evolution.”

Abiodun added, “From the newsroom, where he distinguished himself as one of Africa’s finest journalists, to the Government House, where he provided visionary leadership for Ogun State, Chief Osoba has consistently demonstrated that public office is a sacred trust to be exercised with integrity, wisdom, and compassion.

“His invaluable contributions to the restoration and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria remain indelible. Through periods of uncertainty and national challenges, he stood firmly on the side of justice, constitutional governance, and the rule of law.”
