KAMPALA, UGANDA— A shocking incident of alleged child sexual abuse has come to light in Uganda, resulting in the arrest of a man accused of repeatedly raping his teenage stepdaughter. The case, which has sparked outrage, was uncovered after the victim’s mother secretly installed a CCTV camera in their home, capturing the abuse on video. Watch video
The suspect, identified as Mike, is currently in police custody following a report filed by his wife. According to initial reports, the wife became suspicious after noticing unusual movements in the house at night. Without confronting her husband, she purchased and covertly installed a CCTV camera inside the home.
The investigation unfolded when the wife returned from work to find her daughter in distress. “She asked her what happened, but out of fear, she refused to say what happened, she kept telling me stomach pains,” the wife recounted. Suspecting foul play, she reviewed the CCTV footage and was horrified to discover her husband engaged in sexual acts with her daughter.
Upon being confronted, the stepdaughter revealed the extent of the abuse, stating that her stepfather had been raping her every night and had threatened to kill her if she revealed the secret to anyone . The distraught mother immediately reported the matter to the police, leading to the husband’s swift arrest.
