Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has rejected a new contract offer from the Premier League club as interest in the England Under-21 international continues to grow.
The 22-year-old has two years remaining on his current deal, but negotiations over an extension have stalled despite Bournemouth making a new contract one of their priorities this summer.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea are all monitoring the midfielder’s situation.
Bournemouth refuse to consider sale
Despite Scott turning down the latest offer, Bournemouth remain determined to keep the former Bristol City player and have made it clear he is not available for transfer.
The Cherries have maintained the same position with both the player and interested clubs throughout the transfer window, rejecting approaches and insisting he will remain at the club even if he enters the new season on his existing contract.
Reports have linked Scott with an £80 million valuation, but Bournemouth have shown no willingness to negotiate.
The club are under little financial pressure after qualifying for the UEFA Europa League and raising significant funds through the sales of Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi and Dango Outtara over the past year.
Bournemouth have also adopted a similar stance regarding highly-rated forward Junior Kroupi, while Brazilian attacker Rayan is also expected to stay after joining the club earlier this year.
Premier League rivals continue to monitor situation
Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 in a deal worth £25 million and has since established himself as one of the league’s promising young midfielders.
He has made 89 appearances for the club, scoring six goals, and played a key role in Bournemouth’s sixth-place Premier League finish last season, helping the club qualify for European competition for the first time.
The midfielder also received his first senior England call-up last November before joining Thomas Tuchel’s extended World Cup training squad, although he is yet to make his senior international debut.
Scott’s future has attracted greater attention during a summer in which Premier League clubs have spent heavily on midfield reinforcements, with Elliot Anderson, Morgan Rogers, Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes all completing or nearing big-money transfers.
