Omoyele Sowore, a human rights advocate and presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has challenged the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) to make public the entire video of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, being questioned.
In response to rumors that Gbajabiamila had been questioned by the anti-graft agency, Sowore made the demand in a post on his official social media profile on Tuesday.
He claimed that the only way to persuade Nigerians that the exercise was legitimate would be to release the whole, unaltered recording of the purported questioning.
“If the ICPC truly interrogated Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, they should release the full, unedited video recording to the public now,” activist Omoyele Sowore wrote.
Sowore dismissed the reported interrogation as what he described as another attempt to divert public attention, insisting that Nigerians would not be convinced without full transparency from the anti-corruption agency. He maintained that such gimmicks would not work, describing the development as merely another smokescreen.
The ICPC had not publicly responded to Sowore’s demand at the time of filing this report.
