Nigerian social commentator and financial influencer GehGeh has sparked conversations online after sharing his thoughts on relationships and financial compatibility between couples.
In a recent statement, GehGeh advised men to consider dating women who are within a similar financial standing, arguing that relationships with a wide economic gap may create misunderstandings between partners.
According to him, dating someone who is significantly less financially stable can sometimes make acts of kindness appear differently, as the person may feel uncomfortable receiving certain forms of support or may misinterpret generosity.
“Men stop dating girls that are broke, normalize dating girls in your level cuz there is no benefit in dating a girl far lesser than you. Anything you do for her she will feel like she’s using you. She isn’t used to meeting a rich guy, so she will take your kindness that she is using you,” GehGeh said.
His remarks have generated mixed reactions from social media users, with some agreeing that financial compatibility can help reduce pressure in relationships, while others argued that love, character, and shared values should matter more than a person’s current financial situation.
