Tinubu’s Reforms Saved Nigeria From Economic Collapse – YAYI

…Seeks Arewa support for APC ahead of 2027

The governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, has said the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu rescued Nigeria from economic collapse and laid the foundation for long-term growth.

Adeola made the assertion on Tuesday while addressing leaders and stakeholders of the Arewa Community from the 20 local government areas of Ogun State during a courtesy visit to his constituency office in Ilaro, where the group pledged support for his governorship ambition.

According to a statement, the senator commended Tinubu for what he described as bold leadership in implementing reforms despite the economic hardship experienced by many Nigerians.

He identified the removal of fuel subsidy, the deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector and the unification of the foreign exchange market as key policies that had stabilised the economy and restored investors’ confidence.

Adeola said the reforms addressed long-standing structural challenges that had slowed Nigeria’s economic development for decades.

“Mr. President took difficult but necessary decisions to save Nigeria’s economy. The removal of fuel subsidy and the harmonisation of the foreign exchange market were bold reforms that rescued the country from the brink of economic collapse and positioned it for sustainable development,” he said.

The senator also credited the Federal Government’s monetary and tax reforms with strengthening the country’s economic recovery and providing a framework for long-term fiscal stability.

While acknowledging that the policies initially imposed hardship on Nigerians, Adeola insisted they were necessary to rebuild the economy and secure future prosperity.

“These reforms came with temporary discomfort, but they were necessary to truly heal the economy. Today, we are beginning to see the positive impact of those policies, and they remain Nigeria’s saving grace,” he added.

He urged members of the Arewa Community to sustain their support for the Tinubu administration, saying continued backing of the government’s reform agenda would help consolidate the gains already achieved.

Adeola also called on the community to work for the victory of the APC in the 2027 general elections at both the federal and state levels, expressing confidence that continuity in governance would accelerate national development.
