A Southwest Airlines flight from Houston to Phoenix was delayed after a female passenger stripped naked, screamed, and ran through the aircraft cabin before takeoff, prompting the plane to return to the gate.
The incident occurred on Monday, March 3, aboard Southwest Airlines Flight 733, which was preparing to depart from William P. Hobby Airport in Houston for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman became visibly distressed while the aircraft was taxiing for departure. She reportedly demanded to be let off the plane before removing all of her clothing and walking up and down the aisle while shouting. Watch the video

Passengers said the disturbance lasted for about 25 minutes, during which the woman allegedly banged on the cockpit door and continued yelling despite efforts by flight attendants to calm her. Videos recorded by passengers, which later surfaced on social media, showed the woman moving through the cabin as shocked travellers looked on.
The aircraft eventually returned to the gate, delaying the flight by more than an hour while authorities responded to the situation.
One passenger described the experience as “very uncomfortable and really scary,” adding that many people on board, including children, were left shaken by the incident.
The Houston Police Department confirmed officers met the aircraft after it returned to the gate. The woman was removed from the plane and transported to Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Police said no criminal charges were filed.
In a statement, Southwest Airlines confirmed that the flight returned to the gate because of a customer-related incident. The airline apologised to passengers for the delay and thanked them for their patience while crews worked to ensure the safety of everyone on board.
